Abstract

Persaingan sengit dalam dunia perniagaan memerlukan PKS peka dalam menghadapi pelbagai situasi yang mencabar. Dengan peningkatan kos pengeluaran, perkembangan teknologi dan perubahan corak permintaan memerlukan PKS bertransformasi untuk meningkatkan potensi daya saing di pasaran. Sektor industri makanan sedang menghadapi tempoh peralihan yang pantas didorong oleh permintaan domestik dan antarabangsa, perdagangan bebas, pembangunan genetik, pembangunan teknologi pemprosesan, paten, kepentingan asas kepada kesihatan dan keselamatan makanan. Dalam situasi pasaran yang memiliki tahap ketepuan yang tinggi, inovasi memainkan peranan yang penting untuk meningkatkan prestasi PKS dalam tempoh jangka masa yang panjang. Oleh itu, objektif kajian ini dijalankan bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh amalan inovasi terhadap prestasi PKS dan jenis inovasi yang biasa diaplikasikan oleh PKS dalam sektor makanan di Malaysia.
