Abstract

Forest fires are a significant threat to the environment and economy, so early detection is essential. This study aims to identify the potential for forest fires in Kubu Raya Regency using the Random Forest method. By analyzing a variety of meteorological and geographic data, including temperature, humidity, wind speed, and vegetation density, Random Forest's algorithm is trained to predict potential fires. Model performance is evaluated based on accuracy level, user accuracy, manufacturer accuracy and kappa. The results show that the Random Forest method provides a reliable and effective approach to early detection of fires, with implications for improving forest management and mitigation strategies in Kubu Raya. This study aims to identify the potential for forest fires in Kubu Raya Regency using the Random Forest method. This algorithm works by building many random decision trees and combining predictions from those trees to generate a final prediction. The data used in this study is forest fire hotspot data obtained from the MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) satellite. The results show that the Random Forest method can produce an accurate model of forest fire potential with an accuracy value of 92%. This model can be used to predict the location and timing of wildfires with a high degree of certainty. This research is expected to contribute to the development of an effective forest fire potential system in Kubu Raya Regency. This potential system can help the government and the community in taking faster and more appropriate measures to prevent and control forest fires.
